Dolly Sods Fall 2002
We returned to the Dolly Sods on
October 13, 2002 in order to take in the beauty of the autumn colors…we were not
disappointed! We couldn’t have timed our visit any better, the leaves were at
their peak and the blueberry bushes provided a carpet of red throughout the
wilderness area. The weather could have been a wee bit better, but Pick, Nikki,
and myself (Weisey) toughed it out and hiked around in the misty rain for a few
hours. We focused mostly on the Bear Rocks area and the
Northland Loop
Interpretive Trail. The Sods have definitely worked their way up to the top of
the Natural Born Hikers list and we are already talking about returning next
year, until then we have this photo gallery to keep the splendor fresh in our
memories. We hope it brightens your day as well…enjoy.
