Delicate Arch

The trail to Delicate Arch is heavily used, so be prepared to share the experience with fellow hikers—particularly if you plan to stay for sunset. Delicate Arch appears in best light in the late afternoon and especially just before sunset when it takes on a beautiful orange glow—bring your tripod to best capture the amazing spectacle on film. Also, keep in mind that the arch is in an open area, exposing the visitor to sun and wind—bring a jacket, sunscreen, and plenty of water. It is also a very good idea to bring a flashlight or headlamp if you will be returning after sunset—descending after sundown can be trecherous if you can’t see where you are going. One last word of advice, do not miss an opportunity to view/photograph Delicate Arch through its less famous cousin—Frame Arch. You will find Frame Arch in the cliff above the last 50 yards of the trail—look up and to your right on the approach to Delicate Arch and you will see it.
